… About Lou

With 20 years of experience as a therapist and a certification in Internal Family Systems (IFS), I bring a depth of expertise and compassionate understanding to my clients. In my practice, I strive to balance the interplay of play and sadness, healing and compassion, grief and hope. This nuanced approach acknowledges the complexity of human emotions and fosters profound personal growth. Often, when working from home online, my family will hear me laughing—an authentic expression of the joy and resilience that therapy can nurture alongside the challenges. This harmony between vulnerability and lightness is at the heart of my therapeutic work, guiding clients toward transformation.

Married for almost two decade's and a parent of two girls, I appreciate the intricacies of family dynamics both personally and professionally. My approach integrates proven therapeutic techniques with empathy and playfulness, supporting clients in healing and growth.

I am a GenXer (go U2, Pearl Jam, and Counting Crows!), Enneagram 9 wing 8, and my Myers-Briggs is INFJ (leaning more towards an ambivert). On my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being in nature, walking my fluffy dog Javier, listening to music and audio books, taking photos, drinking coffee, and traveling.

Some of my favorite quotes in life are: "It took me 20 years to paint like an adult and the rest of my life to learn to paint like a child” - Pablo Picasso

“I believe in kindness. Also in mischief. Also in singing, especially when singing is not necessarily prescribed.” - Mary Oliver

"Anybody can love the mountains, but it takes a soul to love the prairie.” - Willa Cather

I am looking forward to working with you. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.
